Roles:

The Infrastructure Engineer position will be for a system administrator focused on supporting our middleware platform (Tomcat, JBoss, and Apache), running on a Unix/Linux platform.

An ideal candidate would have some (2-5 years) system administration experience, along with some middleware and SQL knowledge.

Vmware and Perl experience would also be helpful. 

 

Responsibilities:

The Operations team has front line 24/7 pager duty, currently one week oncall about every 10-12 weeks.

Required to be able to work weekend occasionally for maintenance, usually on Saturday mornings. Goal is to perform Tier 2 customer support, break/fix work. 

 

We're looking to have this person start as soon as possible, with deliverables in a major project we're implementing in February. 

 

We are currently looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Technology Services team at our office in Cary, NC.

 

Qualified candidates should have intermediate experience in installation, configuration, and administration of Unix/Linux, as well as understanding of managing middleware applications such as Tomcat, Jboss, and Zend (Apache/PHP).

 

MUST Skills needed (in order of importance): 

Unix/Linux sysadmin – Intermediate level required 

Middleware, Web Services – Intermediate preferred 

SQL skills – Intermediate preferred 

VmWare – Intermediate preferred 

Perl – Intermediate preferred 

 

Position Overview:

• Administration of the Service Provider Network Analytics Platform

• Planning, performing, directing, and documenting more advanced operational processes and procedures as required

• Providing detailed, concise, and timely follow up communication to customers

• Actively escalating issues to senior management to ensure timely resolution and notification

• Operational Support of a large customer base.

 

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• 3+ years in an application administration position

• High degree of interpersonal skills in working with different skill levels of both technical and non-technical oriented individuals. • Administrative-Level understanding of Systems OS (Windows/Linux), Network Configuration and Administration, Platform and Network Security Management

• Experience with database product installations, upgrades, and configuration

• Experience with scripting languages

• Ability to balance priorities to accomplish critical goals with the ability to create quality complex project plans to deliver projects on time

• Maintain current industry certifications relevant to specific job function

• Professionalism and maturity in work ethic and performance EEO/AA
